About Me

Lucy Delano is a British conceptual artist, living and working in Brighton.

Often within a strict and essentially minimalist visual framework of ordered linear components, a largely monochrome palette and micro-managed visual order, Delano makes ideas-based work that take a sideways glance at art theory, the value of art, the role of the artist, the agency of the viewer, and art itself.

With strong art history references, she tackles her subjects from within the art-world, in which she critiques the absurd, the blindly accepted and the overlooked.

Visual as well as linguistic trickery is often at play.
